A 31-year-old woman attempted to defraud Banco Provincia in La Plata. She used fake documents and a disguise consisting of a blonde wig, glasses, and a mask in an attempt to deceive the bank staff. However, her attempt was discovered, and she was arrested by the police at the bank's headquarters, located on 7th Street between 46 and 47.
Upon noticing suspicious behavior, the security staff alerted the authorities, who arrived at the scene and found the woman held by the bank employees while she attempted to carry out a transaction with counterfeit documentation. Among the fake items she was carrying, a photocopy of a birth certificate and a temporary DNI application in the name of another person were found.
After her arrest, the woman was taken to the First Police Station, where it was confirmed that she had already been apprehended on April 28 for a similar attempted fraud at a financial institution in the same city. The intervening Prosecutor's Office ordered her to remain in custody until her scheduled hearing the following day.
The case was classified as 'attempted fraud,' and all items used in the attempt to deceive were seized. This incident created concern among the bank's customers, as the account affected by the fraud attempt had previously been the subject of a report for missing money days earlier.
